Doubles Championship

(members only)

Dec. 18-20, 2015

We are pleased to announce the 2015 NCC members’ only Doubles 6 Wicket Club Championship on December 18-20, 2015.  This tournament will be open only to members of the NCC.  The format will be American Rules with 75 minute games.  Teams will consist of two members.  For those members wishing to participate who do not have a partner, every attempt will be made to form teams.

There will be a Championship flight, first flight or more depending on the number of participants. High handicap players are encouraged to enter since there will be higher handicap flights.   Flight selections will be determined by the total handicap of the team. Should flights be combined or adjusted, the handicap of the strongest player on any team shall be at least fifty (50) percent of the low end of the combined handicap for the flight.  For example, if a flight is changed so that the combined handicaps are 10 to 15, no player with handicaps of 5 or less will be allowed to play in that flight.  If that team wishes to remain together, that team will be entered in a lower flight that meets the above criteria.  For example a team with a one (1) handicap and a player with a nine (9) handicap could be placed in a flight of combined handicap two (2) to nine or less.   Depending on the number of entrants, championship and first flights will consist of blocks of five teams. Four games or less will be scheduled on Friday December 18 and December 19 to determine those teams advancing to the play offs and finals on Sunday.  Second flight and above will consist of blocks of four teams.  Three games or less will be scheduled on Friday December 18 and December 19 to determine those teams advancing to the play offs and finals on Sunday,

Social amenities will consist of a half price drinks on Thursday night to preview the flights and scheduled games, continental breakfast Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, and a buffet lunch on Friday and Saturday.

We are looking forward to hosting this tournament for our members. This tournament is designed to allow our members to experience playing in a competitive tournament under tournament conditions. As members of the NCC we have access to a club that can boast of some of the finest croquet lawns , one of the nicest club house and excellent Sandy James food.
